Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has created a global health crisis that has a deep impact on our life every day and is slowing down the global economy. The coronavirus disease is a new strain that was discovered in China in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans.[1] As of June 2020, the COVID-19 has affected more than 9.24 million people, killed more than 477 thousand and spread all over the world and vaccines are not yet available.    Physical and Mental Health in Jeopardy Top

Experts worry that this pandemic situation will make the people all the over the world experience an increased number of physical and mental health issues. However prolonged isolation can take its toll on mental health. It is absolute natural for each and every one of us to feel stress, anxiety, fear and loneliness during the time. It is at most important to take care of our mental health, psychological well-being.[3] Across the globe, the healthcare system was not designed to deal with this crisis. The healthcare system is facing two major issues. The first being the health and mental exhaustion of the healthcare workforce and hospital infrastructure, and the second will be growing backlog of healthcare procedures, will undoubtedly affect the mental and physical health.[4]

First time in the history, a health crisis has shut down the entire global economy. As a result, majority of the companies around the globe have temporarily shut down their factories to minimize the spread of coronavirus. When compare to the data for the period pre crisis and post crisis, majority of countries registered negative growth rate which will have a huge impact on the economic development. The project by WTO says that Global GDP growth is affected negatively is around 8.8 percent. Unemployment rate are skyrocketing to unprecedented level which will lead to the expected increase of poverty.[5]

Hope for the Better Future Top

The post pandemic future will have more working from home culture, and it is very positive change in the working norms which will offering more flexible working options and by which the productivity will have positive growth. First accept that the stress level will be higher at many at this time, everyone needs to prioritize the mindset and well-being at the start of the day. Every day apart from your work schedule regular nutritious food, maintain good sleep, regular exercise.[5] The employer should also empathize the employee’s mindset during this pandemic situation. More emphasis should be given to improve the health hygiene.

The unavoidable decline in the growth of business will have painful consequences, the immediate goal is to bring the pandemic under control with the support of the government, citizen and health professional. As far as the corporates are concern, it is therefore important that businesses are proactive in accessing the risk and vulnerability.[5] The businesses need to act decisively to mitigate risk and plan for rapid and slow recovery. Every business house needs to derive a master plan to reinvent the way of doing business. The policy makers should develop strategic plans to control and mitigate the economic damages to citizens, businesses and countries. Let us identify the opportunity to grow in the current threat, educate people to adopt higher health hygiene. Love yourself enough to stop damaging your present and future. Every country should develop new strategies to adjust the new world order without much delay. Decision taken now will determine the future shape of the recovery and global economic growth prospects.
