I am pleased to announce the launch of the International Journal of Nutrition Pharmacology Neurological Diseases - a new peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Medknow Publishers.

The International Journal of Nutrition, Pharmacology, Neurological Diseases (IJNPND) is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that covers all fields related to nutrition, pharmacology and neurological diseases. There is no other journal that focuses on the nutrition, pharmacology and neurological diseases in a combined form, and IJNPND aims to fill this void and provide a forum for those with an interest in these areas. IJNPND has three main sections: nutrition, pharmacology and neurological diseases. IJNPND publishes research papers, review articles, commentaries, case reports, brief communications and correspondence in all three sections. Reviews and commentaries are normally commissioned by the journal, but consideration will be given to unsolicited contributions.

In the nutrition section, IJNPND welcomes research papers including all aspects of experimental/clinical nutrition and invited articles/reviews/commentaries on nutritional issues. In the pharmacology section, IJNPND welcomes contributions in all fields of pharmacology (both basic and clinical). The work should have a direct bearing on the drug effects, mechanisms or uses, or the development of new drug targets. In the neurological diseases section, IJNPND publishes papers on a broad range of topics of general interest to those working in all the neurological diseases. IJNPND is also ready to publish the proceedings of international conferences/symposia in the thrust areas of the journal.

All articles published in IJNPND will be abstracted and indexed in Caspur, EBSCO Publishing's Electronic Databases, OpenJGate, PrimoCentral, ProQuest, SCOLOAR, SIIC databases, Summon by

Open access means that all articles are freely available to all, worldwide, at no cost to the reader, meaning that the publication cost should be covered by the author's institution or research grant funds. Fee waivers and discounts are available on a case-by-case basis, and we shall make every effort to ensure that lack of funds does not impede the overall objective of publishing the best science, irrespective of authorship or country of origin. Open access is of huge benefit to the researchers working in institutions around the globe where institutional libraries are unable to subscribe the full range of journals.

I expect that the International Journal of Nutrition, Pharmacology, Neurological Diseases will attract manuscripts of the highest quality that are of greatest possible benefit to readers. Peer review is undertaken by at least two leading experts in the area of the manuscript.

For further information on what we hope will be an exciting and highly useful new journal, please click on the "about this journal" link on the journal's web page ( http://www.ijnpnd.com ).
